ARRIVE PANAMA CITY, PANAMA

Welcome to Panama! Upon arrival, your bilingual guide greets you at the airport and transfers you to your hotel where you can spend the rest of your day in leisure in the Casco Viejo neighborhood, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the most desirable area to stay in Panama city. The luxurious boutique American Trade Hotel combines old world elegance with contemporary design. The property and surrounding area are steeped in local heritage and culture in an area known to be a meeting place for creative visionaries and deeply connected to both the historic Old Quarter and the nascent new Panama City. Enjoy fine dining in the stylish in house cafe, have a drink in the Jazz bar, or simply unwind in your plush suite.

EMBERA NATIVE VILLAGE

Today, enjoy your Embera native village excursion from Panama City. Visit one of Panama’s seven indigenous tribes on the Gatun River and relish in a traditional lunch prepared by the village’s women. The journey to the village by way of a canoe ride through the Panamanian jungle is an adventure in of itself!

PANAMA CITY TOUR / PANAMA CANAL MIRAFLORES LOCKS / DAVID

This morning, enjoy a privately guided tour of the Casco Viejo neighborhood in Panama City, including a visit to the Panama Canal Miraflores Locks. Then take your private transfer to Panama City airport for your nonstop domestic flight to David in the Chiriqui Highlands. Upon arrival, your bilingual guide greets you at the airport and privately transfers you to your boutique hotel on a coffee plantation outside of Boquete, about 1 hour away.

BOQUETE ORGANIC FARM & CHEESE MAKING

This morning you will meet your guide at the lobby of your hotel and take a 15 minute private transfer to a family owned farm that produces fresh cheese daily in a small scale to supply the town. The owners, a local family will explain how they live off farming and what their lives are like in the countryside. Here you will learn how to milk cows and learn the simple process of converting the fresh milk into artisanal fresh cheese which you can later eat. In addition, you will learn how to prepare your own lunch with local fresh ingredients. After this you can enjoy some time walking around the farm with impressive views of the surrounding mountains and the Pacific Ocean before returning to your hotel.

BOQUETE COFFEE FARM & TASTING / ONWARD TO ISLA PALENQUE

This coffee tour is kept small and private for an in-depth and hands-on experience. As you walk the fields, you will learn about the growing and processing of coffee plants. Then you will visit the roasting house where you will sample different roasts to determine your preference. Another unique feature of this tour is coffee tasting; every coffee drinker has a preference and every tour roasts beans to satisfy those particular taste buds. During your tour you will see the entire process from bean to cup and can even roast your own cup of Geisha Coffee! Afterwards, you will take a 90 minute private transfer from the highlands in Boquete to the small fishing village of Boca Chica on Panama’s Pacific Coast. Upon arriving at the dock you will be welcomed by Isla Palenque’s staff and take a 15 minute boat transfer to your hotel.

ISLA PALENQUE TO DAVID / FLIGHT TO PANAMA CITY

Carry the serenity of Isla Palenque with you as you take your transfer to David airport for your flight back to Panama City’s international airport. On arrival in Panama City, connect with your onward international flights home or your next destination (no assistance provided at airport in between flights).

Quito

This morning, you are picked up for your half-day private guided tour of Quito, including a walking tour of its historical center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, the afternoon is at your leisure to spend relaxing or exploring the city further on your own.

Spectacular horseback ride in the high Andes near Quito
