With the capacity to accommodate up to 73 guests, the Magellan Explorer offers seven categories of accommodation, including dedicated single cabins. The cabins are designed to ensure maximum comfort and convenience, featuring private balconies (with the exception of Porthole cabins), individually controlled heating systems, a wardrobe, a sitting area, and a private bathroom with a shower and heated floors. The majority of the cabins come with twin beds, which can be configured as a queen-size bed, while most double cabins come with two twin beds that can be converted into a king-size bed.
The ship boasts several amenities that are sure to delight and entertain the guests. A glass-enclosed observation lounge and presentation room with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, a spacious and stylish dining room, a well-stocked bar, a library, a meeting room, a gym, a sauna, and a medical clinic – all designed to cater to the diverse needs of the guests. The forward-facing observation deck leads to the ship’s bow, offering guests a chance to witness the marine wildlife up close and personal. Moreover, the ship has a fleet of 10 Zodiac boats that are well-suited for disembarking and wildlife watching.

Explore the vibrant city of Punta Arenas, Chile, and attend a mandatory briefing at Explorers House to learn essential information about your air-cruise and Antarctic guidelines. Later, gather for a welcome dinner and meet your fellow adventurers while enjoying a typical regional menu.
Day 2 - King George Island
King George Island
Board a flight to King George Island, in the South Shetland Islands, and experience the clear Antarctic air for the first time. Walk 2-km (1.25-miles) to reach the shore and board a Zodiac to your boutique expedition vessel.
Day 3 to 6 - South Shetland Islands - Antarctica Peninsula
South Shetland Islands
Cruise between the South Shetland Islands and the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, sailing among spectacular icebergs and wildlife. Disembark by Zodiac and explore the landscape with expert polar guides. On board the ship, attend educational presentations and share your daily adventures with fellow guests. Flexibility is the key to success in Antarctica, and your voyage may include visits to sites in the South Shetland Islands, the Antarctic Sound, the Gerlache Strait, and the Penola Strait.

Begin your Antarctic adventure in Punta Arenas, Chile, where you will be welcomed by the Antarctica21 staff. After settling in, explore Explorers House and attend a mandatory briefing that will provide you with important information about your air-cruise and the essential guidelines for Antarctic visitors. Then, enjoy a welcome dinner and get to know your fellow adventurers from around the world.
Day 2 - King George Island

Take a two-hour flight from Punta Arenas to King George Island in the South Shetland Islands. Feel the crisp Antarctic air fill your lungs for the first time as you exit the airplane. Then, walk two kilometers to the shore and board a Zodiac that will take you to your boutique expedition vessel.
Day 3 to 8 - South Shetland Islands - Antarctica Peninsula - Polar Circle
South Shetland Islands
Sail through ice-filled fjords and among spectacular icebergs, and observe seabirds, penguins, seals, and whales in their natural habitat. Visit the South Shetland Islands and the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, disembarking by Zodiac each day. In small groups, hike to extraordinary sites and take part in exploratory Zodiac excursions to otherwise inaccessible areas. Our expert polar guides will share their passion for Antarctica through an engaging program of illustrated presentations, and lead you ashore to interpret the wildlife, the history, and the many wonders of the Antarctic environment. Enjoy spectacular views from the glass-enclosed lounge, while sharing your daily adventures with fellow guests over a drink. The Expedition Team will plan the specific voyage route based on local conditions and take advantage of the ever-changing opportunities provided by nature. Your voyage may include visits to sites in the South Shetland Islands, the Antarctic Sound, the Gerlache and Penola Straits, and the Crystal Sound.

Day 2 - Saunders Island - Carcass Island

Experience the beauty of Saunders Island in the morning with its long white-sand beach and its abundant wildlife, including rockhopper penguins, nesting black-browed albatross, and sub-Antarctic gentoo penguins. In the afternoon, visit Carcass Island and take an easy hike to the settlement, go bird watching, and enjoy a typical Falklands tea experience.

Bleaker Island
Discover Bleaker Island, a natural reserve with a wide variety of birds, in the morning. In the afternoon, set sail for South Georgia.
Day 4 to 5 - At Sea

Spend two days at sea, with the opportunity to observe the stunning views of the open ocean and the wildlife that inhabits it.
Day 6 - Elsehul Bay
Elsehul Bay
Arrive in Elsehul Bay in the afternoon, and if approved by the South Georgia government, take an evening Zodiac cruise.
Day 7 - Grytviken - Fortuna Bay - Stromness

Start the day with a visit to Grytviken, where you can clear Customs and explore the South Georgia Museum and Ernest Shackleton's grave. In the afternoon, head to Fortuna Bay and Stromness to see king penguins and learn more about Shackleton and his expedition. There is also an optional 2-3 hour "Shackleton walk."

Visit Gold Harbour in the morning, a spectacular location with king penguins, elephant seals, and hanging glaciers, as well as sooty albatrosses. In the afternoon, take a Zodiac cruise to Cooper Bay to see macaroni penguins.

St Andrews Bay
Explore St Andrews Bay in the morning, home to the largest king penguin colony and elephant seal bulls. In the afternoon, take a Zodiac cruise and land at Ocean Harbour to see a shipwreck and the remains of the whaling industry.

Visit Prion Island in the morning to see the nesting wandering albatross. In the afternoon, head to Salisbury Plain for more king penguins and stunning landscapes.

Cruise along the Antarctic Peninsula and among the South Shetland Islands, visiting sites in the Antarctic Sound and the Gerlache Strait. Explore Gourdin Island, Brown Bluff, Half Moon Island, Deception Island, Wilhelmina Bay, the Lemaire Channel, Cuverville Island, the Melchior Islands, and other magnificent places.
