Balta Island / Santa Cruz Island

Following your morning arrival at Baltra Airport, you’ll transfer to the Itabaca Channel where a small ferry takes you to the north shore of Santa Cruz Island. Your naturalist guides detail Santa Cruz’s unique ecosystems and wildlife as you travel to the Santa Cruz highlands where you’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, a short ride to Santa Cruz’s nature reserve brings you into contact with the endangered giant tortoise. In their natural habitat, the tortoises are easy to spot, lumbering around, eating grass and leaves, and wallowing in small pools. You’ll also have the chance to explore several underground lava tunnels before a short bus ride takes you down to Puerto Ayora to board the La Pinta.

Settle into your cabin, explore the observation deck, enjoy a handcrafted cocktail made from exotic fruits and local liqueur. Dine on a specially prepared dinner al fresco under the setting sun.

Santa Cruz Island

After breakfast, hop aboard a panga that takes you to Eden Islet, just off the Santa Cruz coast. Explore the volcanic terrain, filled with stunning volcanic cones and eroded lava flows. Observe blue-footed boobies diving into the water, reef sharks, and frigates. Dive in yourself, snorkel, or tour the shallows in a glass-bottom boat.

Next, visit the tiny island of Sombrero Chino, named for its resemblance to a traditional Chinese hat. Walk along its crescent-shaped white sand beach. The cove here offers excellent swimming and snorkeling opportunities amid white-tipped reef sharks and Galápagos penguins.

Bartolomé Island / Santiago Island

Start the day with a climb up Bartolomé Island. At the top of a wooden staircase catch the view of surrounding islands and the iconic Pinnacle Rock. Get closer in a dinghy ride around this colossal rock formation. Then relax on the beach, snorkel amongst tropical fish, or take a ride in the glass-bottom boat.

After lunch, land at Sullivan Bay on the east coast of Santiago, a white coral sand beach perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Hike a trail over a lava field that flowed less than 100 years ago. This is a beautiful place to see and feel the volcanic origin of the Galápagos while observing its wildlife.

Genovesa Island

Start the day with an easy stroll along the beach, observing marine and land birds. Take the chance to hike over lava fields before returning to the beach to swim and snorkel in this spectacular natural harbour. This area’s calm waters make it a perfect spot to kayak and tour the cliffs looking for birds nestled in the cracks.

This afternoon, take a panga ride along the cliffs before stepping out for a short but steep climb up Prince Philip’s Steps, a wooden staircase. At the top of the stairs, where the land is flat, take a captivating walk to the other side of this small island where you’ll find large colonies of Nazca boobies, frigate birds, storm petrels, and the elusive short-eared owl.
